Literature

Almaha Jaralla paints a scene steeped in nostalgia. Her large-format canvas depicts a vintage Mercedes, its presence both a status symbol of 1990s UAE and a portal into her personal history. Parked outside an ADNOC station, the car forms a portrait of familial narrative, tying the artist’s memories to the region’s landscape. Jaralla's dreamlike use of acrylic and oil on canvas invests the work with a sense of time preserved, where the ordinary pulses with mythic significance.
