Miramar Al Nayyar Iraqi, b. 1997

Miramar Al Nayyar (b. 1997) is a self-taught Iraqi artist based between Amman and Abu Dhabi. Her multidisciplinary practice centers on movement as an elemental forming code, working across painting, installation, and material experimentation.

Through free flowing gestures and intuitive mark-making, she develops surfaces that recall scripts, symbolic systems, and geographies shaped by time. Her recent work investigates the relationship between language, universal memory, and abstraction, often drawing from the structural logic of Arabic calligraphy and the physicality of desert landscapes.

Al Nayyar is a recipient of the Prince Claus Seed Award and SEAF, and her work has been exhibited regionally and internationally.
