Archival work from 2005—produced 20 years ago while Hazem Harb was a student in Italy, newly displaced from Gaza. This early mixed-media piece, rendered on coarse hessian, features abstracted figurative forms in states of emergence and erosion.
This work suggests a continuum. The same concerns—of fragmentation, layering, and the morphing of the human figure—persist in Harb's practice two decades later.
